Tatlin.

iOS app

Tatlin is the concept from international art exhibition group Condo, with the proposal of creating a network of critically acclaimed exhibitors and collectors that can browse, track and and purchase contemporary art online.

Inviting the client into our studio for an initial discussion, we talked through goals, ideas and inspirations to gain further insight into how we could produce an MVP to showcase the app's core functions, with a view to iterate and build out additional features. Our discovery phase found that collectors were frustrated with the lack of categorisation within curation apps and had insufficient personalisation to track specific items. This was a key consideration when exploring solutions of easily uploading and tagging artwork.

In collaboration with a wider team including UX and development, I conducted ideation workshops followed by benchmarking sessions to focus on UX practices and functionality of high-profile auction platforms. With userflows subsequently mapped out, I produced a visual analysis of direct/indirect competitors to support preliminary UI designs followed by high fidelity prototypes.

Sharing an admiration of minimalistic design with the client, I aimed to achieve an elegant yet simple interface by placing emphasis on the featured artworks and utilising as much white space as the screen would allow. The app is used by art collectors around the world and won Best Use of Digital in the Media Sector at the Digital Impact Awards.
